Course Overview

The Designing Cisco United MeetingPlace Solutions (DMPS) training course has been designed to review and enforce the system architecture of MeetingPlace and how those components are integrated into an enterprise network. The DMPS Cisco training course also covers the use of the MeetingPlace Configuration Tool and other tools through the use of case studies. Design scenarios are emphasised to create solutions that meet common customer MeetingPlace deployment requirements.

Course Objectives

On successfully completing the DMPS 642-272 course candidates will be able to:
  • Identify MeetingPlace features, capacities, and requirements that should be considered when planning a comprehensive customer MeetingPlace deployment
  • Design a highly available, comprehensive Cisco Unified MeetingPlace deployment plan, given specific customer environments and requirements
  • Identify and evaluate customer application, IP telephony infrastructure, and user and conferencing requirement factors that need to be considered when planning a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace deployment

Course Prerequisites

Candidates attending the DMPS 642-272 course should complete the self-paced Cisco MeetingPlace Product Overview course prior to attending the training. Candidates should also have practical experience with MeetingPlace from having completed the Cisco MeetingPlace Basic User (CMBU)) and Cisco MeetingPlace System Administrator (CMAD) 90 minute web-based courses.
Candidates are also required to have a working knowledge of designing converged voice and data networks, SIP, MGCP, and H.323 protocols, their implementation on Cisco IOS gateways, designing video basics (ICRMC is recommended) and also be able to include call control systems in Network design - (UCAD is recommended).

Testing and Certification
