Course Overview

The Implementing Data Centre Networking Infrastructure 1 (DCNI-1) Cisco training bootcamp has been designed to compact the normal 5 day DCNI-1 course into just 3 days and to help candidates prepare for the Cisco DCNIS-1 Channel Partner Specialisation exam in the shortest time possible. Candidates should therefore expect longer days to ensure all course content is covered. The DCNI-1 bootcamp also focuses on the Catalyst 6500 platform and incorporates a wide range of advanced features.

Topics covered include:

• Virtual Switch Services (VSS)
• IOS Software Modularity
• Advanced QoS
• Embedded Event Manager (EEM)
• Other automated diagnostics tools

Candidates will also learn how to deploy integrated security and network management services with the Catalyst 6500 Series Firewall Services Module (FWSM) and Network Analysis Module (NAM). In addition candidates will also learn how to configure the Catalyst 6500 and 4900 for high availability.

Target Audience

Candidates who should consider attending the DCNI-1 642-973 Cisco training course are Network Field Engineers who are preparing to take the DCNIS-1 exam or are already capable of implementing and optimising basic Layer 2 and Layer 3 services using Cisco IOS and the Cisco Catalyst switching platform and who wish to maximise the capability of the Catalyst 6500.

Course Prerequisites

Candidates attending the DCNI-1 642-973 Cisco training course should hold either a valid CCNP, CCIE Routing and Switching or CCIE Service Provider certification.

Testing and Certification

The DCNI-1 Cisco training course is the recommended preparation for the 642-973 DCNIS-1 - Data Centre Network Infrastructure Support 1 exam. Data Centre Network Infrastructure Support 2 (DCNI-2) and Data Centre Network Infrastructure Design (DCNID) are recommended for further study.

Please note that this exam is required for the Cisco CQS for Data Centre Infrastructure Support, and is one of six courses and exams that make up the Advanced Data Centre Networking Infrastructure Partner Accreditation.
