Course Overview

The Microsoft Office Project Server 2007, Managing Projects M5928 instructor-led training course has been designed to provide candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge required to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and close enterprise projects by using the Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 enterprise tool. This is the second course in the Microsoft Office Project 2007 Official Curriculum series and covers the Microsoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM) Solution.

Target Audience

Candidates who should consider attending the M5928 Microsoft training course are experienced project managers and schedulers. These individuals are capable of managing projects in the Microsoft Office Project 2007 EPM environment, including project and non-project efforts, risks, issues, documents, task progress, and timesheets. Candidates should be familiar with key project management concepts and terminology found in the Project Management Institute`s A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide), Third Edition, and advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Project 2007.

Course Prerequisites

Candidates attending the M5928 Microsoft training course should have experience using Microsoft Office Project to create project schedules and a fundamental knowledge of project management. Candidates are also expected to have experience with the Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system and Microsoft Office Excel 2003 and be familiar with the key project management concepts and terminology found in the Project Management Institute`s PMBOK Guide, Third Edition. Finally, candidates are recommended to have previously attended and completed course M5927: Microsoft Office Project 2007, Managing Project.

Testing and Certification

The M5928 Microsoft training course is the recommended preparation for the 70-633 TS: Microsoft Office Project Server 2007, Managing Projects exam.
