Course Prerequisites
Candidates attending the M5118 Microsoft training course should have experience installing Windows operating systems and running commands from a command window, such as the DOS command prompt. Candidates should also be familiar with computer hardware and devices, such as the ability to use Windows device manager and look for unsupported devices. Candidates are also required to have basic knowledge of: TCP/IP such as knowing why a valid IP address is needed; networking, including LAN, WAN, wireless and firewall concepts and Windows and Active Directory, such as knowledge about domain user accounts, domain vs. local user accounts, user profiles, and group membership.Finally; candidates should have application fundamentals, such as how a client communicates with the server in client/server applications and experience reviewing logs, such as understanding chronology, sequential order, severity, etc.
