Course Overview

The Implementing Cisco Unified Meeting Place Solutions (IMPS) hands-on instructor-led training course provides an in-depth coverage of the installation and configuration of the functional components of Cisco MeetingPlace and covers the different deployment models in an enterprise customer`s network. Candidates will become familiar with the inter-communication of main system components, system installation, system configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring and debugging.

Course Objectives

On successfully completing the IMPS 642-274 course candidates will be able to:
  • Identify system components and the client information required to successfully implement a comprehensive Cisco Unified MeetingPlace solution
  • Successfully implement a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace application Server, including the required interactions with customer SIP, email and directory services
  • Verify successful operations of a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Media Server after an installation or upgrade has been performed
  • Implement and maintain a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Conferencing solution successfully for internal and external access
  • Identify the user interfaces and procedures required to perform MeetingPlace administration and maintenance tasks and configure specific integrations

Course Prerequisites

Candidates attending the IMPS 642-274 Cisco training course are required to have a working knowledge of converged voice and data networks, SIP, MGCP, and H.323 protocols, their implementation on Cisco IOS gateways and video basics (ICRMC is recommended). Candidates are also required to be able to configure and operate Cisco Unified Communications Manager and previous attendance of CIPT1 is recommended.

Testing and Certification

The IMPS Cisco training course is the recommended preparation for the 642-274 IMPS - Implementing MeetingPlace Solutions exam and is required for candidates who wish to achieve the Cisco MeetingPlace Support Specialist certification.
